Foundations is looking for a special education teacher for an
elementary self-contained ED classroom in the Apache Junction, AZ
Area!

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree (BA) from four-year College or university
- An appropriate and current Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Valid Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance
card.
- Special Ed Certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30-40 per week

Job Description:
Instructs children in activities designed to promote learning
concepts, acquire skills and develop positive attitudes that will
contribute to their development as capable, mature, and responsible
citizens by performing the following duties.
Core Job Functions:
- Establish a positive classroom environment conducive to
effective instruction and learning
- Provide learning experiences correlated with approved
curriculum and State and District standards
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that adapt the
curriculum to meet the needs of each pupil
- Communicate learning goals to students in a well-planned,
organized manner using clear and precise language
- Facilitate small and large group instruction based on current
research-based best practices
- Use available technology to enhance learning
- Evaluate student growth
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by
State/Federal law and District policy
- Establish oral and/or written lines of communication with
guardians to discuss pupil progress
- Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress of low
performing/at-risk students
- Use site, District, and State assessment data to drive
instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and/or
intervention programs
- Effectively implement Individual Education Plans
- Assume responsibility for the supervision of students on school
property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students,
equipment, materials, and facilities
- Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and
conferences with guardians
- Participate in school and District initiatives
- Maintain professional competence through participation in
District provided professional development sessions and/or
self-selected professional growth activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the District or school
site

Physical Requirements:
- Teaching positions typically require: stooping, kneeling,
crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching,
lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive
motions.
- Employees may be subject to travel, body fluids, fumes, odors,
dusts, gases, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, variant
temperatures, and intense noise.
