Waymo Training Solutions supports the building of necessary human
expertise that ensure the safety and efficacy of the Waymo driver.
It also drives our operators' ability to meet regulatory compliance
and skills proficiency requirements. As a Technical Documentation
Program Manager, you'll be responsible for continuously driving and
improving the efficacy and efficiency of several training and
documentation programs across multiple service lines by working
closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors.
You'll propose and drive program revamps that accelerate leaner
ramp up time and help Waymo's business move forward. In this hybrid
role, you will report to the Head of Operations Training and can be
based out of San Francisco, CA; Mountain View, CA; Los Angeles, CA;
Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ. You will:
- Engage with subject matter experts to identify required
technical skills and capability at all levels
- Conduct training needs analysis and identify training gaps with
measurable impact on the business
- Write business requirements documents for training and
documentation with senior partners across multiple subteams
- Plan, develop short and long-term roadmaps, prioritize
projects, and manage timelines and impact on concurrent training
programs
- Balance long-term programs with short turnaround demands
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports on training metrics, and
present plans to continuously improve training effectiveness, and
engagement
- Review the final products developed by a team of vendor-based
instructional designers
- Identify innovation and process improvement opportunities;
document processes to ensure smooth onboarding and operation for
Training and Development team members You have:
- 8+ years in L&D, Technical Training, Technical
Documentation or other related field with experience designing and
implementing learning and communication strategies, process
optimization initiatives, and technical programs for people at all
levels
- 5+ years of program management experience with complex projects
and cross-functional stakeholders
- 2+ years' experience using Google Workspace
- Ability to work well in ambiguity, problem solve, and build
processes and structure as needed
- Partner management skills, balancing our needs and those of the
learners
- Experienced writing concise documentation (e.g. business
requirements, summary reports, project briefs), and delivering
engaging presentations, often to senior leadership
- A desire to continuously learn and guide business impact We
prefer:
- Experience with learning management systems such as
Cornerstone
- Data analysis skills, measuring Return on investment of
Training
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations
management
- Proficient in automating processes using scripting language
(e.g. SQL or Python or other) #LI-Hybrid The expected base salary
range for this full-time position across US locations is listed
below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors,
including exact work location, experience, relevant training and
education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the
specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be
performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred
location, during the hiring process. Waymo employees are also
eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus
program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits
program, subject to eligibility requirements. Salary Range
$145,000-$184,000 USD
