The summer Internship program runs June through August, with flexible dates available, based on school schedules. Interns who perform well and demonstrate a commitment to our values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, passion and excellence may be extended employment opportunities with Western Alliance Bank.The intern will be a team member of the IT National Business Lines unit:The intern analyst will work closely with our agile technical delivery team, various business partners and stakeholders playing a contributor role in supporting critical projects across our business domains.What we are looking for:

• Learn the system processes and data structures that support National Business Lines
• Participate in business interviews to analyze and document current and future states along with product owners.
• Documents business, technical requirements, and/or critical business processes using textual and visual modeling techniques like user stories, journey diagrams, mental models, business process flow, use case, system flow and state diagrams.
• Works closely with product owner, UI/UX designers, facilitate the generation of workflow, lo-fidelity and hi-fidelity wireframes.
• Gains knowledge and support data governance team by providing data mapping, data store, its intent, meaning, context, and lineage on the enterprise data catalog
• Review current documentation for applications and systems and take necessary actions as appropriate (create new, modify existing, etc.)
• Involved with support activities for existing solutions, including regular business interactions and facilitating delivery of improvements and bug fixes as required.You may be a fit for the program if you meet certain eligibility requirements, including:
  • Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a related field of study
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
  • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, Excel, MS Word, Visio Drawing and/or Lucid chart tools.
  • Exposure to requirements gathering and documentation using techniques like user stories, business process flow, use case, system flow, state diagrams and data maps preferred
  • Experience in report generation, SQL, data structures, excel macros are highly desired
  • Experience in programming or scripting languages like python, java script, type script, shell, batch is a plusTo be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
